What about priorities?

1) Let’s keep our city green, clean and safe. I would like Temple Terrace to show its best side to the world by beautifying the streets, parks, businesses and neighborhoods. Let’s start by planting trees in 56th Street’s barren medians and by cleaning up downtown. Stylish new street signs would be a low-cost way to signal our pride in our amazing city.

2) Your quality of life in Temple Terrace is my most important goal. You chose Temple Terrace because it’s special; I’ll do what I can so that Temple Terrace keeps its unique charm. Let’s preserve our established neighborhoods and make sure that new housing is attractive and of high quality.

3) Our police officers and firefighters will go any length to help us. Now they need our support to be at their best. That means good quality facilities and competitive pay.

4) The cost of housing is high. I won’t let government make it worse. I will not support new residential property taxes. Let’s help our fire department keep its Class I rating, which can reduce your homeowner’s insurance.

5) Let’s balance the budget and pay down our city debt. That means every dollar must go to low cost, high impact ideas, like using the empty 2-acre Downtown property as a venue for daytime live music and food trucks.

6) Code Enforcement upholds our community standards, but the rules must apply equally and fairly to everybody. We should simplify our code (e.g., don’t require a permit to replace more than three fence panels!), but keep the rules that make our city more livable.

7) I’ll keep up the pressure on the Fountain Shoppes (Downtown TT) developer until the fountain is clean, the trash is swept up and the landscaping is as promised.
